Environmental red flags have gone up in the Chilean Lake District as Endesa and the Chilean Government plan the construction of two electricity generating plants in the region, with a combined capacity of 600 MWs. and a total investment of U$2.3 billions.

In all likelihood indigenous land will be expropriated and communities displaced. For better or worse the area may never be the same.
